This policy paper, a result of the ToxFree LIFE for All1 project, explores bisphenols’ environmental and health risks, explicitly focusing on their use in textiles. It combines research findings with a consumer survey conducted across several European countries with 2,200 respondents. The survey reveals a strong desire for more information about chemicals, significant concern about health and environmental risks, and most imperative, overwhelming support for stricter regulations on harmful substances.
The ToxFree LIFE for All1 project aims to support the transition towards a sustainable and toxic-free economy, society and environment by informing, empowering, and enabling consumers to choose products with less hazardous components, thus protecting themselves, the environment and signalling the necessity of change towards the market.
